Braving the cold out on the Winter Trails January 19, 2007 - January 28, 2007

January 19, 2007 Jyllene & Sasha take the horses to the lake on a snowy day.

Sebastian and Princess in the shadows.

Sasha rides English & Jyllene rides Western.

There's an old stonewall along the trails of Otter River.

Jyllene was really cold but Sasha didn't mind.

January 20, 2007 Sasha takes Sebastian out Western today.

They always have fun out in the woods together.

Sebastian wears a jingle bell under his saddle so everyone can hear him coming when he is out on the trails.

They canter along happily!

Ponytail flies!

Sebastian carefully makes his way down the hill.

And then up the other side.

Sebastian plays in his paddock wearing his new winter blanket.

January 21, 2007 Sasha tacks up Sebastian in the barn with his new Western bridal.

Then she heads off bareback through the woods.

Sebastian is ready for his closeup.

Sasha thinks Sebastian looks really handsome.

Mittens the Kitten followed her the whole way.

Sasha's ears look really cold!

She rode him down the stretch, bareback.

Is it the cat still following us?

Sasha rides even faster in the ring.

January 25th 2007 Sasha practices some jumps today.

She decides to give Mittens the Kitten a ride, since he's always hanging around.

January 28, 2007 Leaha, Sasha and Brenda go out on a trail ride together.

Brenda likes for Princess to get the experience, since she still spooks at little things. She spooked at a pheasant today.

Sasha is in the middle on Brownie the pony and Leaha is riding Sebastian today.

Princess likes to lead the way

Brownie and Sebastian don't mind. This is Brownie's first time out on the trails in a long time.

Sebastian says, "I'll take the lead now if Princess is too afraid."

They take the low trail, and I take the high trail, and we'll all meet at the ridge.

I wanted to get this shot of the 3 of them coming up the ridge together with the scenic snowy frozen lake behind them.

It's pretty steep. Sebastian and Leaha climb up first.

Then Brenda and Princess.

Sasha and Brownie bring up the rear.

It's pretty cool at the top!

We better head home, the sun is starting to fade.

Pony pals had a fun ride today.

We really haven't had that much snow yet, but the temperature has dropped.

It gets dark quickly as the sun goes down for the day.

Sebastian is a great winter horse!
